---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Lavo's food was AMAZING! If you ever get the chance to go to Lavo in NYC, make sure to have the dishes come out one at a time or else you'll be overwhelmed with great tasting food. The music at the restaurant was a good clubby mix, but as the night went on, it seemed to get louder and louder. At some point it was hard to hear us talk with one another. It might be on purpose though to make you want to dance right in your seat and PARTY!!! Lavo is a super cool place to celebrate birthdays. There was another table next to ours that was celebrating a birthday and they got glow in the dark sticks for the whole table, and the waitresses brought out a large champagne bottle with sparkly lit sparklers and sang happy birthday. It was really cool :)

Can we just say that the service was very, very good. Our waitress was very friendly and helped recommend items for us to eat.

The outside is very simple and NY sleek!

^ Margherita Pizza

This pizza was scrumptious! There was just the right amount of cheese and the crust was very thin and crispy. It was served very hot and was big enough to share.

^ Caesar Salad

This salad was remarkable!!!! We love all kinds of salad, especially caesar salad, so whenever we go to any restaurant we often get this salad. I, Ashley, have tasted so many and when I tasted this I was blown away. It was just the right size, and the first thing I said when I took a bite was that this was probably my favorite caesar salad I have ever eaten! On the other hand I, Taylor, thought that the salad was really good, but it tasted a lot like every other Caesar salad that I have ordered before. So I wouldn't necessarily say that it was the best salad I have ever had, but good nevertheless. Also I thought that the croutons were really really hard and it made me feel like my tooth was going to break :(

^ Baked Clams Oreganato

Another group favorite were these clams. Our family has a deep love for clams and we haven't had them in a while so we were hoping for some good clams to eat. My oh my, these exceeded our expectations! The sauce that was served on the dish was light and tasted great. If we weren't in a public place, we would fight over who gets to lick the plate :)

^ The Meatball

This is probably one of the largest meatballs we have ever eaten before. Like a large baseball sitting on your plate! The cheese (ricotta) and tomato sauce worked very well together making it taste zesty and creamy at the same time. It was seasoned just right and certainly a good size to share.

^ Complimentary Appetizers

Starting from left to right, the cheese tasted delectably salty and flavorful. In the middle was the pickled cauliflower and radishes which had a sweet and sour taste and had the perfect crunch. On the right, were the olives. The olives were soaked in oil and tasted delicious. And best of all, it was complimentary!

^ Crispy Fried Calamari

This calamari was mouthwatering and tasted delicious. The texture of the calamari was nice and crispy and if you squeeze some lemon onto the calamari it gives the dish that extra tang that makes it taste that much better. The sauce on the side was a little spicy, but was tasty and a great size for our family to share!

^ Oreo Zeppole

This was a truly amazing Oreo dessert! The Oreo was dipped in batter and deep fried... amazingly delicious! The outside was soft and warm and had powdered sugar sprinkled on top. The inside was nice and warm and melted in your mouth the second you took a bite. The dessert came with multiple Oreos and was a great size dessert to share with the whole family.

Lavo is a great place to go to celebrate any occasion or to just simply go for a great meal. The service was great and the atmosphere was fun. The only two things that I, Taylor, personally thought could be changed a bit was to lower the volume of the music just a little because it was kind of hard to have a conversation when the music was blasting. I also thought that the lighting could've been a little bit brighter because it was hard to read the menu in the dark. Otherwise Lavo was spectacular! We would definitely like to go back for more!
