Located right behind the Letterman Digital Arts building, Sessions is the perfect post-Presidio hike hangout spot. Don’t be worried about the polished dining room—yoga pants and fleece-clad diners are welcome. It also has plenty of easy-to-get tables and a big patio for your dog to run out any residual zoomies. Service can be hit-or-miss with disorganization at the host desk and long waits between seeing your server—and it’s unfortunately not redeemed much by the food. Stick with the American gastropub classics like the deviled eggs and fried chicken breast sandwich for the best experience.

Deviled Eggs

These things are generously filled and the pickled onions offset the richness of the yolk. We’d get these again.

Steak Frites

Has a great crust, but the accompanying sauce is a little too sweet, and the meat is tough. We do appreciate the huge heap of fries though.

Fried Chicken Breast Sandwich

We wish the chicken was juicier and thicker to stand up to the bulbous buns. A few tweaks to the ratios of this sandwich and we’d order it again.

Sessions Waffle

Solid. The brunch-only waffle has a great mix of textures. It’s chewy, and topped with stewed fruit and granola. No need to add the syrup that comes on the side.
